The 2030 Agenda, adopted following an unprecedented process of international discussion and participation, represents a major milestone in the transition towards a more sustainable world. This programme brings together a diverse range of competencies to address current and future sustainability challenges.

Objectives

The main objective is to develop key competencies in sustainable development, including systems thinking, anticipatory thinking, strategic thinking, ethical reasoning, interpersonal skills and negotiation. Critical thinking, a fundamental component of university education, is also strongly encouraged.

Target Competencies

Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to understand the historical background of the 2030 Agenda, assess the systemic dimensions of sustainable development and the methods used to implement them, develop informed positions on the opportunities and challenges associated with sustainable development, analyse sustainability issues and develop appropriate solutions, and lead sustainable development projects across diverse institutional, cultural and geographical contexts.
